Formerly NECTAC, the ECTA Center is supported by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) under the provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The Center’s goal is to improve state early intervention and early childhood special education service systems, increase the implementation of effective practices, and enhance the outcomes of these programs for young children and their families. The site provides resources and guidance for states and local programs that serve children ages birth to five with disabilities and other special needs.
